C-Tex is 100% activated carbon in the form of a textile structure, which contrasts with alternative products which are less than 50% activated carbon glued or trapped within a conventional textile or foam.  This gives C-Tex gram for gram much higher adsorption capacities and due to its unique structure higher rates of adsorption. Only ultrafine grades of activated powder carbons have similar performance - but with all the associated handling problems avoided by using C-Tex.

C-Tex is manufactured from a modified cellulose (wood pulp) that has been knitted, woven or formed into any other textile structure.  It has enhanced adsorption properties with rates typically 10 to 50 times faster than traditional granular activated carbon (GAC). Each 10 kg of C-Tex activated carbon cloth has a surface area of over 4 square miles (10 square kilometres).  Standard C-Tex types range in weight from about 70g/m2 for C-Tex 100 to 190 g/m2 for C-Tex 20.  We can also manufacture special and research grades which can range from an amazing 10g/m2 for ultra lightweight materials up to a massive 600g/m2.
