MAST Carbon was originally the Carbon Group within the British Petroleum organisation, becoming an independent company in 1995. It has grown since its establishment first as a Research and Development organisation and in latter years into a world class manufacturer of speciality grades of high surface area carbons. Working with Blue Chip clients and national institutions it has established itself as a world player in innovative carbon technologies.
The C-Tex brand of activated carbon textiles joined MAST Carbon in May 2005 following the successful acquisition of Vapour Management Systems; formally the C-Tex Division of Siebe Gorman. MAST Carbon will continue to develop and manufacture the advanced carbon textile materials under the C-Tex brand name as well as introduce new products based on the MAST Carbon synthetic carbon technology base.
The MAST Carbon facility can convert almost any viscose rayon textile including woven, knitted, felted, composite or loose fibre into a high quality activated carbon material.
